Dating vintage yamaha drums

I asked this very question a while ago and have the same badge as you. When I look on Yamaha's website, they describe an "original" Stage Custom that's been discontinued, but it doesn't look like mine: it has split lugs, not stretch lugs. Let me go look at my badge and see what it says........... You have falkata on the inside plys and maple on the outer Here is a picture of my badge Proud Yamaha Player The line between the real world and the machine world is becoming more and more blurred every day.Mine are from 93 and I'd love to know their construction. See here: 14" K's and New Beats 20" Byzance Sand Ride 20" K Custom Dark Ride 21" HHX Legacy Ride 20" and 22" Dream Contact Crash/Rides 15" AAX Dark Crash 16" Signature Fast Crash 18" Saluda Earthworks Crash 20" Crash of Doom 8" A Custom splash 10" Signature splash One amendment to my earlier post: The label in the picture I posted says "Made in Japan," but mine say "Made in Indonesia." Not sure if that makes a difference, but thought I'd mention it just in case. But its not that humans are turning into automations or becoming slaves to the machines. 14" K's and New Beats 20" Byzance Sand Ride 20" K Custom Dark Ride 21" HHX Legacy Ride 20" and 22" Dream Contact Crash/Rides 15" AAX Dark Crash 16" Signature Fast Crash 18" Saluda Earthworks Crash 20" Crash of Doom 8" A Custom splash 10" Signature splash 14" K's and New Beats 20" Byzance Sand Ride 20" K Custom Dark Ride 21" HHX Legacy Ride 20" and 22" Dream Contact Crash/Rides 15" AAX Dark Crash 16" Signature Fast Crash 18" Saluda Earthworks Crash 20" Crash of Doom 8" A Custom splash 10" Signature splash OK, I think I finally found the definitive guide to all this. Broadkaster in true vintage champagne sparkle is in and moving fast, almost sold out and more on order now.

Here's some of the badges i've seen used on them, in no particular order: Stage custom advantage(outer ply of Birch, [gloss finishes] six plies of Philippine Mahogany, and an inner ply of Falkata): Yamaha Stage Custom Noveau(Same shell as Advantage with either oak or birch outer ply depending on finish, and with noveau lugs): Yamaha Stage Custom Birch(0 birch shell): Oops, sorry about that Tom.mode=model Notice that the number for the 12" tom (to take one example) is STT-612Y in the SC Advantage line. Also, when you type in "STT-612Y" in the Yamaha Drum Vault website, it lists the drum as having split lugs. Mine is the "regular" SC, which I believe predates the SC Advantage line. 14" K's and New Beats 20" Byzance Sand Ride 20" K Custom Dark Ride 21" HHX Legacy Ride 20" and 22" Dream Contact Crash/Rides 15" AAX Dark Crash 16" Signature Fast Crash 18" Saluda Earthworks Crash 20" Crash of Doom 8" A Custom splash 10" Signature splash Scorch -- I think I may see what's happening in our "dispute." There seems to be some sort of error on the Yamaha website. When you click on the link I gave above, which takes you to the SC Advantage description, there's a paragraph that reads: Incorporating a springless casing design, the precision-machined lug nuts offer noise-free control.See Yamaha FG Serial Numbers, Interior Markings, and Labels – 1966 to 1981 for more information. 61 = 1972 62 = 1973 63 = 1974 64 = 1975 65 = 1976 66 = 1977 67 = 1978 68 = 1979 69 = 1980 1974 made in Taiwan FG-110.Many made in Taiwan Yamaha guitars will have 2 serial numbers ink stamped in easily seen places, the brace under the fretboard and on the neck block. Since the serial number on the brace is 40131535 (Jan 31, 1974) is later, the date on the side must be when that part was made.
